There is a NHL team called the Black hawks that has an Indian mascot as their logo. A lot of Indians have saw this as being racist and request for it to be taken down and the team to be given a new symbol because they think it disrespects their culture. Their have been a lot of people that feel disrespected about how people used their culture in a bad way.
Mascots that are animals have proven to give more pride to the fans rather than what a human would give which is not as much pride to the fans.
Native Americans do not think it's a privilege to be a mascot because their is a team called the Redskins which is another name for the bad native Americans. So the NFL is now trying to ask them to change their name because so many Native Americans are offended by it.
Mascots should only be animals and not people. Mascots that are animals can offend and make a person feel less about themselves. So to avoid that mascots shouldn't be people and just be animals to avoid offending or being racist towards someone .
