Driving ages should be raised because teens get more distracted easily.

“The majority of food related accidents occur in the morning hours. People are more concerned about their appearance in the morning as they are heading to school, so a spill is a much bigger deal. Eating while driving also occurs more frequently when people are running late.”

“We live in a society where everyone must have full access to their friends and family anytime. If a text message comes in, people don't like taking the time to pull into a parking lot or wait until they arrive at their destination. Excuses are always made for "just this one time" and when somebody gets away with it once, they do it again and again, increasing the chances they will be involved in a major accident, hurting themselves or someone else. All over text messaging. Hard to believe people still take the risk.”

I also agree with Matt because Teenagers are too immature to drive at such a young age.

It takes about 1,500 skills to drive behind the wheel – observation, perception, interpretation and anticipation – all occurring in the brain which American Medical Association studies show does not reach full maturity until mid-to-late 20s.”

”Young Drivers are often at risk for being involved in crashes due to driver inexperience and immaturity. Inattention, poor driving strategies and high-risk behaviors continue to be problem areas with young drivers.”

“When a teen is traveling 15 to 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, the part of his or her brain that processes a thrill is working brilliantly. But the part that warns of negative consequences? It's all but useless”

The driving age should be raised because Lots of people die every year. “Between 1995 and 2004, there were 30,917 fatalities in accidents that involved 15-to-17-year-old drivers, according to a study by

the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. About a third of those deaths were the teen drivers themselves. The rest were pedestrians,

passengers, and people in cars that teenage drivers struck.””The institute's 17-page report collects research on the minimum driving age from the United States and countries that have higher licensing ages. The research shows states are making progress in reducing the No. 1 killer of teens—motor vehicle crashes—through graduated driver licensing. The laws ease restrictions on teen drivers as they gain experience and keep a clean driving record”
