According to Oregonlive.com, 2 of the Native american tribes who are in oregon, say "we are disappointed with the State Board of Education's decision last week to ban Native American-themed mascots in schools." This proves that the native Americans are proud of the mascots, and they would be disappointed when we Take away our native american mascots, they are a tribute to the past, and it would be a shame to loose our native american mascots

According to National Journal.com, In oregon they have passed a bill, that bill will will let some schools keep their Native American mascots with permission from the federally recognized tribes. When the Native American tribes grant permission, it is basically saying that they approve of the mascots and find them appropriate.

It may be offensive to some people, but we are just embracing out native American cultures, If we choose not to embrace our culture and change our mascots because some people find it offensive, we will forget it. If we forget our culture, we will not be able to pass down our history to the next generation.

Native american mascots should stay as is, because our native american mascots are a tribute to the past, and most native americans agree with the mascots. Mascots are a source of pride for some native american groups, and if we take those mascots away, we are taking pride away from the native americans.

Supporting Evidence: Keep mascots the same. (drive.google.com)
